Pain Points

Kids (5-8):

  • Kids usually don't have great art skills,
so it will be hard to design a toy as they imagined.

  • Kids may lose interest quickly in the design process, and give up before they finished.

  • Young kids don’t have sufficient vocabulary, so they may not understand the words in the app.

  • Customized toys take more time to produce, and customized toy also
    means expensive.

Parents:

  • Customized toys are expensive, and parents can’t ensure their kids will enjoy the toys after purchasing it.

  • Parents will concern the safety of unfamiliar app and the security of their kids’ privacy, and may worry that their kids’ designs get too aggressive.

  • Parents may find it difficult to choose a specific app, and hope the app can have a positive, educational impact on their kids.

User Needs

Kids (5-8):

  • A kid needs to understand how to use the app easily so that they can design their own toys by themselves.

  • A kid needs to stay focused during the design process so that they can place the order and get the toy they want.

Parents:

  • Parents of a kid need to make sure their kids can’t make the payment by themselves so that they can avoid wasting money

  • Parents of a kid need to buy the toy their kid truly loves so that they can make the kid happy and save money
